Frequently Asked Questions About Homework
1. Will I have homework in your class?
Yes! I often do assign homework in the Spanish I class. Remember, you are earning a high school credit. Also, it is super important to daily review your vocabulary and grammar notes, even if they are not assigned as homework.
2. Why do we have homework?
Homework allows you to practice what we are learning. Many of you invest countless hours into practicing for sports and music. In order to be successful in any life skill, you need to practice.
3. What if I turn in my homework late?
Not tuning your homework in on time means you will not receive the practice you need in order to be where you need to be for the next day's lesson. Also, when we go over the homework in class, you will not be in the best possible position to ask good questions. That is where some of the best learning takes place too!
4. What happens to my grade if I turn in my homework late?
Turing in your homework late is much better than not turning it in at all. I still expect you to complete a missing homework assignment the next night, even if that means having double homework that night. I deduct points for late homework and I contact your parents. Be your own best friend, and keep up with your homework every night. You will always be happier knowing that you came to school ready to learn.
5. What if I do not know how to do some of my homework?
That is an excellent question!!! First, ask your parents or phone a friend from class for help. Second, make sure that you go ahead and at least make an attempt, better an attempt than to leave it blank. By giving it your best guess possible, I will at least be able to see what you were thinking as you worked on it, and will know how to help y0u the next day!
